Size

The Belgian Jigsaw Waterproof jacket was built by Seyntex with tropical downpours in mind, although it can fair snow and ice very well — featuring a similar waterproof membrane we have come to know and love from our Austrian cousins and their waterproof parka.

Belgian Jigsaw has a much tamer history than the rest of Belgium, originally developed in 1956, the pattern consists of rusty earth, "Bottle" green and khaki green elements amidst smaller, black and white shapes. Originally intended for use in Europe it also worked suspiciously well in the Congo. There were 4 generations of "Jigsaw" issued over it's 66 year reign, with minor pattern changes and improvements in fabrics, with the final jigsaw pattern seeing the removal of the bits of white prevalent in previous patterns.

With its two large zippered front pockets, your Belgium chocolate is guaranteed to stay dry, and the adjustable hood, cuffs and hem will keep the jacket fitted to you, and any kit underneath.

Specs

  • Two Way Zipper
  • Full Button Storm Flap
  • Hood With Adjustable Drawstring
  • Adjustable Waist Drawstring
  • Two Zippered Front Pockets
  • Adjustable Sleeve Cuffs

Condition

Jackets are in excellent to like-new condition with no tears, stains, rips or holes. Membrane will be intact, and ready for downpours. All hardware is intact and functional. Jigsaw pattern may vary from photos shown.

Sizing

You'll want to roll with your usual shirt/jacket size if you intend to throw layers underneath, otherwise if you're planning on going with just a shirt underneath for a more "fitted" look, you're good to size down one. :)

so sweet

Perfect fit and it feels brand new. Gives me the feeling that it's worth a lot more than I paid for it.

Who needs Northface?

Literally it does what its suppose to do, while looking cool af. Caution though- got a size medium but its still very large chest wise and length. Makes sense as its designed to throw on top of whatever you got on in a pinch.

Drippy ( Also Repels Water)

The smallest size was a perfect fit for me. Normally I’m a medium or large in standard US sizing. Storm flap adds extra protection from the rain and doubles over itself so no water will get in. Greatest rain jacket I’ve ever worn! It doesn’t breathe too well, so don’t overlayer underneath. Zippered pockets on both sides are plenty deep and extra wide.

Belgian waterproof shell

This rain jacket seemed unissued due to its long-term storage odor typical of military surplus. Besides that, it’s still a very functional waterproof shell from 1996! Great price too!

Good Stuff

The only way I would blend in with this camo is if someone spilled curry all over some grass and then threw up all over the mess.
