Designed by Lowe Alpine and improved by ARWY the Alpine Strike Pack is one of many Berghaus side-zip expandable packs that's become one of the most popular designs in Europe — well-deserved for their versatility.
The "Strike" Pack in particular is a taller, narrower profile pack similar to popular "hunting" packs on the market, with separate pouches that zip on to the side like many Berghaus styled packs. With its 40L capacity It's capable of carrying everything you need for a long weekend in the woods, and without the side zips it has plenty of room to carry a tarp and bedroll on its sides. It also features a buckled down top lid with an extra compartment for a rain cover or other quick access essentials.
Running light? the side zips double as a compression mechanism that keeps the pack closer to the user's body. Along with excellent shoulder padding and a wide kidney belt it'll be more than capable of handling a decent load without making you feel like Atlas.
The cherry on top is its construction — a Near-Infrared-Reduced-Signature 1000D Cordura. As we're pretty familiar with this fabric ourselves, we can almost guarantee the stitches will come apart long before the fabric lets you down. And that's going to be hard to do.

This pack works great for when I go on longer hikes through the woods and I have even used it to carry extra gear when I’m hunting and riding trails. So far I’m impressed with how much abuse it holds up to.

This was a killer deal! Purchased in "good" condition. The exterior is a little faded, more than I had initially hoped; being a lover of DPM. This sensation, itself, eventually faded as the pack is in great condition and ready for any field work. This does not have a frame, but instead a padded back.
It has one large storage compartment, with a drawstring closure, very similar to an ALICE pack. The storage compartment on the lid is typically where one would store a rain cover; but on its own, it has enough room for a helikon-tex poncho, helikon-tex mapcase, and an Arktis stowaway. A decently sized compartment!
As a protip, make sure to source DUTCH side pouches! Some of the British variations have different and opposing zipper orientations, causing some of these pouches to attach upside down. Something to keep in mind to anyone looking to upgrade. It wouldn't be the end of the world, either.
This was a damn good deal - I regret not picking up the sting along with this.
